The implementation of consumer protection |
Under this concept, all actions and activities are summarized, which are intended to protect consumers from discrimination on the purchase of goods or services. The role of consumer protection is therefore to create a balance between the providers of goods and services and the consumer, since the latter due to lack of knowledge and information is at a disadvantage. For the consumer, therefore, information in a purchase of decisive importance, must be available and understandable. As an example, data on food are mentioned. Consumer protection is also often affected the freedom of contract, since certain legal rules must be respected in the sense of the consumer. Also the inhibition of unwanted advertising calls one of the tasks of consumer protection.

Consumer protection is not regulated in Germany by a separate consumer protection law, but

The Consumer is a nonprofit organization that offers respect of private consumption information and advice, and may also provide legal assistance. This can go there, among other things a question of law or purchase of credit law and order problems associated with manual work. It is also charged with the task of representing consumer interests in legal disputes.
